89th Oscar Awards 2017

The 89th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to honor the best films of 2016,  held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. During the ceremony, AMPAS presented Academy Awards(commonly referred to as Oscars) in 24 categories. The ceremony, televised in the United States by ABC, produced by Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd and directed by Glenn Weiss. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel hosted the ceremony for the first time.

IHF Hockey Star Awards 2017

FIH (International Hockey Federation) Hockey Stars Awards were conferred on 23 February 2017 in Chandigarh.

This was the first time in the history of Hockey that the ceremony was held to honor best players, rising stars, goalkeepers, umpires and coaches. Belgium captain John-John Dohmen and Netherlands' Naomi Van were named as male and female International Hockey Federation's player of the year, 2016 awards respectively.

Prime Minister Digital Saksharta Abhiyan

Introduction

In the Union Cabinet meeting chaired by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, “(PMGDISHA) got a go ahead and it aims at providing digital literacy to 6 crore rural households. The mission was announced by finance minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley in the Union Budget 2016-17 and falls under Digital India programme.

 For increasing the outreach of the mission, 250,000 gram panchayats would give names of 200-300 candidates on an average. Only 6% rural households have a computer according to the 71st National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) conducted in 2014. This indicates around 15 crore rural households do not have computers and hence it is significant that they are digitally illiterate.

About Credit Cards (An Insight)

What is a credit card?

A credit card is a Payment card provided by a financial or entity or banks to an individual or a company. Credit cards validate the cardholder to pay for goods and services based on the holder's contract to the issuer to pay issuer entity for the amount pay and other agreed charges. Credit cards allow the holder a continuing balance of the debt, subjected to interest being charged, basically credit card involve a third party that pays the goods and services for the consumer and pay back by the consumer.
The credit card companies or issuer banks generate a revolving account and provide a line of credit to the user, from which the consumer borrow money for payment or as a cash.

Home Loans and Types (An Insight)

What is home/house loan?

Home or House loan is a loan offered by financial entities (generally banks) to an individual to help in buying or built a house or Apartment. The property is mortgaged to the lending entity as security till the loan has been paid back with the interest as agreed. The value of the property determined the amount of loan.

Type of home loans: 

There are different type home loans available in the market. The types are differentiated and described below.

Exam Bite (Part-4)

• An open-ended fund or scheme is one that is available for subscription and repurchase on a continuous basis. These schemes do not have a fixed maturity period. Investors can conveniently buy and sell units at Net Asset Value (NAV) related prices which are declared on a daily basis.
• Gilt funds are those funds which invest exclusively in government securities to reduce risk factor.
• A load fund is one that charges a percentage of NAV for exit. That is, each time one sells units in the fund, a charge will be payable. This charge is used by the mutual fund for marketing and distribution expenses.

3) भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने डिजिटल लेनदेन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए डेबिट कार्ड से लेनदेन को सस्ता किया।
इसके तहत मर्चेंट डिस्काउंट रेट (MDR) में कटौती की जायेगी।
कोई भी बैंक 0.95% से ज्यादा एमडीआर नही ले सकेगा।

4) वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने झारखण्ड में मोमेंटम झारखण्ड (Momentum Jharkhand) का उद्घघाटन किया।
इसे निवेशक सम्मलेन भी बोलते हैं।
इसके तहत झारखंड में विकास को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 3.75 लाख करोड़ का निवेश होगा।

कर्रेंट अफ़ेयर्स 15 फ़रवरी 2017

1) भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संस्थान (ISRO) ने एक साथ 104 उपग्रह लांच करके विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया।
इन उपग्रहों को PSLV-C37 के जरिये श्रीहरिकोटा से छोड़ा गया।
इसमें 101 उपग्रह अमेरिका, इस्राइल और नीदरलैंड के थे जबकि 3 उपग्रह भारत के थे।

2) DRDO मार्च में सुपरसोनिक मिसाइल ब्रह्मोस का परीक्षण करेगा।
इसकी दूरी अभी 270 किमी है, जिसे बढाकर 450 किमी किया जायेगा।

3) इसरो मार्च और अप्रेल में 2 और उपग्रह लांच करेगा।
इनमे से एक उपग्रह दक्षेस देशो का होगा जिसे PSLV Mark 2 राकेट से भेजा जायेगा।

4) केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के 5 सहयोगी बैंको को भारतीय स्टेट बैंक में विलय को मंजूरी दी।
इस विलय के बाद भारतीय स्टेट बैंक भारत का सबसे बड़ा और सबसे ज्यादा ग्राहकों वाला बैंक बन जायेगा।

3) नीलू रोहमेत्रा पहली बार की IIM की पहली महिला निदेशक नियुक्त की गई।
इन्हें IIM Sirmaur का निदेशक नियुक्त किया गया है।

4) अमेरिका और जापान ने एक साथ पहली बार इंटरसेप्टर मिसाइल का अंतरिक्ष में सफलतापूर्वक प्रक्षेपण किया।
इस मिसाइल का नाम Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) है।

Pradhanmantri Jan Aushadhi Yojna (An Insight)

Introduction

Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojna (PMJAY) launched in October 2015, to provide quality generic medicines at very cheap prices so that it will be affordable to the masses through dedicated outlets.

 The primary aim of this scheme was to target the poor and disadvantaged section of the society who cannot afford to buy high cost drugs for their treatment. Under PMJAY low cost generic drugs are provided to all through exclusive outlets “Jan Aushadhi Medical Stores” so as to reduce the pocket expenses in healthcare. 

Chief Minister Samagra Gramy Unnayan Yojna (AN Insight)

INTRODUCTION:

The Chief Minister Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) has been launched by Chief Minister of Assam; Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal in a function held at Sri Madhavdev International Auditorium of Srimantha Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on 05-Feb-2017.It’s main objective is to develop all the villages in Assam in the next five years. 

Aim of the Scheme

The Chief Minister Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) scheme’s main aim is to bring a revolutionary change by doubling the farm income by 2022 in the state of Assam to mark the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence which will happen in 2021-22. 
The total financial outlay of scheme is Rs. 30,000 Crore. The scheme will be implemented in phased routine in the villages of Assam till the year 2021-22.

इस उपग्रह का नाम लुओजिया-1ए है।

2) भारत ने देश में बनी पहली इंटरसेप्टर मिसाइल का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया। 
इससे पहले अमेरिका, रुस और इजरायल के पास यह क्षमता थी।
इस प्रणाली के तहत दुश्मन देश की बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल को पहचान के हवा में ही मार गिराया जा सकता है।

3) भारतीय चित्रकार सुदर्शन पटनायक ने 48.8 फ़ीट ऊँचा मिट्टी का किला बनाकर गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में नाम दर्ज किया।

4) केंद्र सरकार ने कर को बचाने वाली कंपनियों (Deviant Shell Companies) के लिए टास्क फाॅर्स का गठन किया।
यह टास्क फाॅर्स हँसमुख अधिया और तपन रॉय के नेतृत्व में काम करेगा।

मस्कट का नाम Kheleao है।

3) विराट कोहली सबसे ज्यादा 150 रन बनाने वाले भारतीय कप्तान बने।
इससे पहले सुनील गावस्कर और मोहम्मद अज़हरुद्दिन पांच 150 रन बना चुके हैं।

1) केंद्रीय मंत्रीमंडल ने प्रधानमंत्री ग्रामीण डिजिटल साक्षरता अभियान को मंजूरी दी।
इस अभियान को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में शुरू किया गया।
इसके तहत 6 करोड़ ग्रामीणों को डिजिटली शिक्षा दी जायेगी।
इस अभियान के लिए सरकार ने बजट में 2351.58 करोड़ रूपये को मंजूरी दी।

2) केंद्र सरकार ने रिज़र्व बैंक ऑफ़ इंडिया के सेंट्रल बोर्ड में 3 गैर अधिकारिक निदेशकों की नियुक्ति की।
इनका कार्यकाल निश्चित नही है, क्योंकि ये पार्ट टाइम निदेशक नियुक्त किये गए है।
ये गैर अधिकारिक निदेशक है-

2) मनीष सबरवाल
3) राजीव कुमार

3) रेल मंत्रालय ने अंडमान और निकोबार में रेल योजना को मंजूरी दी।

4) बैंक ऑफ़ महाराष्ट्र ने ग्राहकों को बीमा सुविधा देने के लिए स्वास्थ्य बीमा कंपनी Cigna TTK के साथ समझौता किया।
