UPTET 2018 Apply Online and Notification (FAQs)

Q1. What is UPTET Examination?
Ans. The Government of Uttar Pradesh will conduct Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (UPTET) also known as Uttar Pradesh TET. Uttar Pradesh TET is for the candidates who want to become teachers in primary (class I -V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Q2.What is/are the Qualification(s) & Eligibility Criteria for applying for UPTET Exam ?

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

OR

Graduation (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Graduation (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Graduation (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*

OR

Graduation (or its equivalent) and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year BTC- Urdu (Special Education) from UP/ Diploma in Teaching and Moililam –a- urdu (मोअलिल्म - ए-उर्दू )From Aligarh Muslim University

OR 

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Graduation with atleast 50 % marks and passed or appearing in final year B.Ed (by whatever name known)

UPTET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teacher:

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 2- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. 

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in B.Ed(Special Education).

Q3.What are the number of attempts a candidate can avail for UPTET?
Ans. Till now there is no limit on number of attempts for appearing in UPTET

Q4.Can I apply for UPTET again if I had already qualified the UPTET before?
Ans. Yes. There is no restriction.

Q5.How many Papers are there in one UPTET?
Ans. There are two Papers in each UPTET Paper I:- For Class I to V

Paper II:- For Class VI to VIII.
If a candidate intends to teach Classes from I-VIII, he/she has to appear in both the Papers i.e. Paper I & II.

Q6.What is the time duration of each Test?
Ans. The duration of each test is 2:30 Hrs.

Q7.When will be the online registration start?
Ans. The Online Application form for UPTET 2018 will be available from 18-09-2018 to 3-10-2018

Q8. What is the exam pattern?
Ans. All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Each question carrying one mark.

Paper I (for Classes I to V) Primary Stage: (Duration of examination-Two-and-a-half hours)

Structure and Content (All Compulsory):

• Child Development and Pedagogy - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks
• Language I (compulsory) - 30 MCQs 30 Marks
• Language II (compulsory)- 30 MCQs -30 Marks
• Mathematics -30 MCQs -30 Marks
• Environmental Studies -30 MCQs -30 Marks
• Total 150, MCQs -150 Marks

Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage: (Duration of examination – Two-and-a-half hours)

Structure and Content (All Compulsory):

 

• Child Development and Pedagogy - 30 MCQs - 30 Marks
• Language I (compulsory) - 30 MCQs 30 Marks
• Language II (compulsory)- 30 MCQs -30 Marks
• Mathematics -30 MCQs -30 Marks
• Social Studies/Social Science -60 MCQs -60 Marks (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher)
• Total 150, MCQs -150 Marks

Q9. Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?
Ans.The exam is offline in nature.

Q10. Is the exam Bilingual?
Ans. Yes, it is bilingual in nature.

Q11. Is there a sectional cut-off in the exam?
Ans. No, there is no sectional cut off in examination

Q12. Is there a criterion for negative marking?
Ans. There is no negative marking in the examination

Q13. What are Age Limit for UPTET Exam
Ans. There is nothing mention in official notification of UP TET Exam Regarding age Criteria.

Q14.What is the Validity period of UPTET Certificate:
Ans.The Validity Period of UPTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be five years from the date of passing UPTET.

Q15.After qualifying the UPTET, am I eligible for getting the Job?
Ans. Qualifying UPTET would not confer a right on any person for Recruitment/Employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

Q16.What will be the examination fee for UPTET 2018
Ans. For Paprt 1 or 2 :     

• General / OBC- Rs. 500
• SC/ST- Rs. 300
• For PH- No Fee

Note: If candidates want to fill for both Paper- 1 & Paper-2 then he/she will have to apply separately.

Q17.What is the qualifying marks for UPTET 2018?
Ans. For General/OBC Category candidates having minimum 90 marks  out of 150 i.e 60% marks and other backward categories(SC/ST) having minimum marks 82 marks out of 150 i.e 55%
