Schemes Launched by Government

Schemes launched by Union Govt.
*       ➡Centre unveiled a regional connectivity scheme, known as UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik), with flights priced at Rs.2,500 for one hour of flying time to & from regional airports. Under the scheme, airlines will be offered a slew of sops at smaller airports such as waiver of landing & parking charges.
*    ➡   Under Sagarmala programme, the Union Ministry of Shipping sanctioned the Capital Dredging Project for Ro Pax Ferry Services between Gogha & Dahej, in Gulf of Cambay in Gujarat. Ministry released Rs 58.50 Crore as first installment of grant-in–aid to Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB). The total project cost is estimated to be ₹234 crore, of which 50 per cent will be funded by the Centre under the Sagarmala programme.
*    ➡   CCEA approved upgradation of 13 existing Government Medical Colleges/Institutes (GMCIs) under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
*      ➡ PM Modi launched Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda Village, Gajwel in Medak District of Telangana. This was launched to provide safe drinking water to all.
*     ➡  Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti and Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu launched Smart Ganga City Scheme.
*     ➡  Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines Piyush Goyal launched TARANG Mobile App, e-Trans and DEEP e-bidding web portals in New Delhi.
*      ➡ Sakshi Malik, the woman wrestler who won the bronze medal at 2016 Rio Olympics named as Haryana’s brand ambassador for Beti Bachao, Beti Padao campaign.
*     ➡  Union Health Minister J P Nadda launched a nation-wide programme MAA- Mothers’ Absolute Affection for promoting breastfeeding.
*     ➡  PM Modi launched Mission Bhagiratha at Komatibanda Village, Gajwel in Medak District of Telangana. The aim is to provide safe drinking water to all.
*      ➡ Union Government launched Accessible E-Library ‘Sugamya Pustakalaya’ for Divyang under Prime Minister’s Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan).
*     ➡  Department of Science and Technology(DST) launched a $15 Mn programme named National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) for nurturing ideas and innovation into successful start ups.

Schemes launched by State Govt.
*     ➡  Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in Maharashtra to provide free LPG connections to BPL households.
*       ➡Student credit card scheme for the students passing Class 12th exam was launched by CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar. This will help the students to get an interest free loan of Rs. 4 lakhs for doing higher studies.
*      ➡ The 17th State to join the UDAY Scheme is Maharashtra. Government of India signed an MoU with Maharashtra Govt. & Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) for this.

*     ➡  Odisha government has come up with a new scheme to provide legal assistance to the deprived sections of the society at the grassroots level in all its 6,812 gram panchayats across the state. The scheme named after great Odia lawyer, 'Madhubabu Aain Sahayata Sibir’ will offer legal services once a week. The advocate engaged for the legal assistance cell will be paid an amount of 500 rupees fee per sitting to provide free legal advice to the people.
*      ➡ 'Farm Tourism' scheme was launched by Haryana Govt. to attract people to villages. Under this, farm owners can host tourists under holiday packages.
*      ➡ The portal of Samajwadi Smartphone Scheme was launched by the UP CM under which smartphones will be distributed to people. All those residents of UP who are above 18, Class X passout, & earning less than Rs. 6 lakh/year are eligible.
*      ➡ UDAN Scheme was launched by the Civil Aviation Ministry which is a Regional Connectivity Scheme. UDAN stands for Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik)”. This scheme will create affordable yet economically viable and profitable flights on regional routes.
*      ➡ PM Modi launched “Urja Ganga” which is a 1500 km long gas pipeline project costs Rs. 51,000 crores to provide piped cooking gas to residents of Varanasi within two years.
*     ➡  Ministry of Science and Technology has started two new initiatives namely Biotech-KISAN & Cattle Genomics. Biotech-KISAN is a new programme that empowers farmers, especially women farmers.  Cattle Genomics: Taking Indigenous Livestock to Pole Position.
*     ➡  Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav inaugurated the dedicated power supply minimum 18 hours for the whole state.
*      ➡ Union Government started the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme. It is for the first time a scheme has been formed to offer financial incentives to employers. The Scheme has an outlay of 10000 crore rupees with a target of 50 Lakh apprentices to be trained by 2019-20.
*       Key highlights of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme
• 25% of the total stipend payable to an apprentice would be shared with employers directly by Union Government.
• 50% of the total expenditure incurred on providing basic training would be supported by Union Government.
*      ➡ Health Ministry launched the Leprosy Case Detection campaign (LCDC) in the country. The objective is to detect the disease early so that those affected can be saved from physical deformity.
*      ➡ Union Government launched the Urja Mitra Helpline number 14401, a dedicated pan-India helpline for power outages.
*       With this, consumers can now get an update from power distribution companies about outages in their area by dialling 14401.
*       ➡The Union Govt. launched a new program called National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI). It aims at nurturing ideas and innovation into successful start ups.
*       ➡Union Government approved projects worth about 450 crore rupees under Swadesh Darshan scheme for five states. The five states are: Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim and Tamil Nadu.
*       ➡Union Health Ministry has decided to launch Mission Parivar Vikas in 145 High Focus districts in seven states for improved family planning services. The Mission will be implemented in all the 145 districts at one go. Its main objective is to accelerate access to high quality family planning choices based on information, reliable services and supplies within a rights-based framework.
*      ➡ ‘Project SAKSHAM’ approved which is a New Indirect Tax Network (Systems Integration) of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC). This will help in integrating system of Central Board of Excise and Customs with the GST network.
*       ➡Union Govt. launched Progress Panchayat which is aimed at reach out the minority community and publicize the various welfare measures taken by the NDA government for their betterment. It was started from Mewat region of Haryana.
*       ➡Odisha government launched a special assistance scheme for elderly weavers, ‘Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana’, to mark the National Handlooms Day. Under the ‘Baristha Bunakar Sahayata Yojana’ all weavers above the age of 60 years would get a monthly pension of 500 rupees, and those above 80 years would get 700 rupees.
*       ➡Maharashtra government relaunched its “Majhi Kanya Bhagyashri” scheme to achieve its objective of improving the skewed girl child ratio in the state.
*       ➡Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a proposal of the State Transport department to implement a new “NCR Taxi Scheme 2016” in 13 districts of the state falling in the National Capital Region.
*       ➡The famous Sreekrishna temple in Guruvayur has been included in the Union Tourism Ministry’s Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spirituality Augmentation Drive(PRASAD).
*       Jharkhand became the first state in the country to have implemented Public Fund Management System (PFMS).

Schemes launched by Ministries
*      ➡ Odisha Government launched the Biju Kanya Ratna Yojana (BKRY) in three districts for the development of girls. It was started in Ganjam, Dhenkanal and Angul districts. The objective is to improve Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) and Child Sex Ratio (CSR) in the three districts.
*       ➡VP Hamid Ansari inaugurated the 4th phase of the Vidyadhanam project. This Project will benefit students of government and aided schools in Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency.
*      ➡ J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti launched the “CM Scooty Scheme” for college girls in Srinagar.
*       ➡“Selfie with my Shauchalya” campaign was started in Ludhiana to make the Swachh Bharat Mission successful and encourage people to use clean toilets.
*      ➡ TN govt. allotted Rs.204 crore towards the implementation of ‘Thaaliku Thangam’ scheme which involves providing marriage assistance and gold for daughters of poor parents and widows among others to make ‘thaali.
*      ➡ Cricket icon and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar has selected Donja village in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra for development under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna.

Schemes launched by Ministries
*       ➡Yatri Mitras Sewa was lauched by Railway Ministry for enabling passengers to book wheelchair services cum porter services.
*      ➡ The housing scheme named Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) has been restructured and renamed as Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY).
*      ➡ Shri J P Nadda, Minister of Health and Family Welfare will launch “Mission Parivar Vikas” in 145 districts for intensive and improved family planning services.
