-›Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA), a National LED programme was launched in Madhya Pradesh.
-› Under the Scheme 3 crore LED Bulbs will be distributed in the next 6 months in the state.
-› Rs. 85 per LED bulbs has to be paid for 9W bulb.
-› A 9W LED bulb gives the same luminosity as a 100W incandescent lamp but consumes less than one tenth of the power.

-› International Labour Day was first started as International Workers’ Day in Chicago in May 1886.
-› The first celebration of Labour Day in India took place in Chennai on May 1, 1923.
It was organized by the Labour Kisan Party of Hindustan and marked the beginning of the use of the red flag.
